There are many reasons why your computer could be slow

June 28th, 2008

I’m myself pretty much a hard corecomputer user, couple of friends have mentioned that if a new computer needs tobe tested in just a couple of hours, it should be given to me. Simply because mynormal computer workload is pretty much at maximum at all times. I have Mozilla
FireFox open with 20-50 different tabs, couple of Adobe Acrobat windows, couple of word files, Editplus (text editor) with 30 tabs, plus of course AdobePhotoshop, mail programs, MSN and these are just the main things.

So if a PC has a reason to strike for some reason,it should definitely be my computer. However, luckily I haven’t really had anybig problems except for speed issues due to my hardcore memory and CPUconsumption.

Most of the ‘computer speed up’ software out there focuses onlyon ONE problem area, but with a user like me, its far from enough. Products like”PC Doctor” and “Registry Fixer” are decent products but they leave alot of your computer’s speed potential unused (I know that after I have tested theproduct Vista Speed Secrets).

Vista Speed
Secrets system covers all important areas so yourcomputer is literally forced to perform at maximum speed and that’s why I woulddefinitely recommend the Vista Speed Secrets to everyone who feels their computeris running slower than it could be should be.

While I use my laptop around 16 hours a day, Ihaven’t really done much to keep it running fast and safe. I run a firewall andanti-virus software. In the past I have tried some spyware software pieces, registry cleaners and so on, but overall they haven’t done much good, some of
them have actually screwed up my computer.

And this makes me happy to see a tested product, which teaches me how to do it all safely. At least for me it worked like atreat, really made my PC faster again and at the same time didn’t cause it toblow up or anything like that.

Did you know that someanti-virus software might make your computer virus-free but at the same timetake up so much of your PC resources that it makes your computer reaaaly slow?

Using VistaSpeed Secrets

Vista
Speed Secrets has been designed so that you run through the entire program stepby step. First you get your machine cleaned up and to get familiar with software(btw, all the software names there are freeware, so no extra costs). It takessome time the first go around but it’s very clearly explained. You’ll learnexactly what to do and most importantly, what NOT to do.

How to use the software and a number of built-inWindows utilities to fix your slow computer. After that there’s a regularmaintenance plan outlined that will take much less time but will keep yourmachine in great shape.

Usually people charge a lot for just a registry cleaner, but in this package, its included! With this program you really get your money’sworth plus more

What I didn’tlike about Vista Speed Secrets?

After going through the system I’d say there are onethings that I don’t like about it. Firstly, being a hardcore computer user Iknow enough about computers as well as different tasks. What I don’t know muchabout is how to speed upmy computer, I know a few things but I haven’t really had any time to workon obtaining knowledge in that area. And here I’d like to see special chaptersthat would be combined of the section of the book. There could be like 3
different combinations, one for hardcore users like me, another forintermediate PC user and finally one for hardcore amateur. Right nowthe sections of Vista Speed Secrets all together last just a bit less than anhour’s read, but for me it would be enough to have a 10-15 to get straight tothe point.

Another thing, the author of the Vista SpeedSecrets, claims he’s a computer speed-up expert. I know for a fact that he isn’t.  Rather he’s an information expert, a good leader in combining a group of people around him and getting great products done. And the fact that he’s calling
himself a computer speed-up expert at first made me a bit suspicious about theproduct. But the product turned out to be great. So I would suggest him to callhimself the average Joe who has combined a really great product for people justlike himself. It would take you weeks to find all this information all byyourself, he has done that for you.

Overall impression

Vista Speed Secrets haseasy-to-follow, professionally produced and well put together ebook, but inaddition to that, every single chapter also has notes attached whichprovide additional notes that will further enhance your PC’s performance. So i f your computer is running slow and you want to speed it up today, Vista SpeedSecrets is the system you should use.

How Not To Build a List

June 28th, 2008

Trying to build a list can become your worst nightmare if you do not take care to do it in the right way. Here’s several ways to destroy your own business while you’re trying to build it.

Your first mistake would be not having a niche, or target market. Do not try to address the entire online world with your list. Instead, focus on a group of people who want the information you have. Why would you send your message out to any others? That would be like standing on a street corner, wearing an advertising “ sandwich board” to promote your products.

Next, if you do not create and nurture an online, personal relationship with your customers you won’t have any customers. People who are hungry to buy your products want to know who they are dealing with…that would be you. There’s so much hype and false claims online today that the average customer doesn’t believe most of what they read. They want to trust you. Give them reason to do that and you will have a customer for life.

If you don’t allow your customers to become part of your virtual world, you will lose them. Ask questions that you want your list to answer. Use surveys. People don’t like it when they feel like they are just bodies with a credit card. They want to believe they are an important part of your business and asking for responses from your customers will have more than one benefit for your business.

The major benefit for you when asking your list members to help you with something…survey or just one or two questions…is that you will probably get multiple answers that will identify exactly what your readers want. Fill that need and you will create major loyalty that translates to sales.

One thing to remember here is to always identify and thank the list member who submitted the question you are addressing. If that happened to you, how would you feel? I would guess the answer to that question is “Special.” It might be a good idea to get permission to use real names, if your customer isn’t using a screen name.

One last way to ruin your business is not to include an unsubscribe link in your emails. People want to know that they can get off your list easily, if they want to. Make sure you respond to that unsubscribe request immediately, without any hesitation, or set it up on an autoresponder. Believe me, you do not want to be branded a spammer, unless you are tired of having a successful business.

5 Reasons Why the Internet Can Be Dangerous for Children and Teen

June 10th, 2008

Are you the parent of a child or a teenager who wants to use the internet, if they don’t already? If so, you may have some concerns. Yes, it is typically safe for your child to use the internet to do research for school projects, but did you also know that children and teens are now using it to communicate with their friends or other internet users? This is how and when using the internet at a young age can become a problem.

As important as it is to hear that your child can find themselves in trouble online, if you do not know what internet safety steps can help to protect them, you may be looking for more information. You also may be curious as to what it is about the internet that can be so dangerous. For your convenience, five reasons why internet use can be dangerous for children and teenagers are highlighted below.

1 – False Identities Are Easy to Create

Making new friends online is easy and convenient, but it is much different than doing so in person. Why? Because you can’t see who is at the other end of the computer. The internet makes it easy for someone to be anyone else in the world. For example, if your child is using social networking websites online, they have to enter in their age. They could easily lie themselves or they could be talking to someone else who is.

2 – Internet Predators

As it was previously stated, the internet makes it easy to create a new, false identity. Often times, the individuals who lie about their ages are internet predators. They are the ones who target children, like yours. Unfortunately, many children, teenagers, and their parents cannot tell an internet predator until it is too late, like when the predators try to approach your child or contact them in person.

3 – So Many Websites To Choose From

What is nice about the internet is that you have so many websites to choose from. In fact, that is why it is a good way to research school projects. With that said, having so many websites to choose from can be dangerous. Your child can gain access to social networking websites, adult chat rooms, pornographic websites, and websites that are violent in nature. Unless you have parental controls set up, your child can easily access any type of website with a standard internet search.

4 – Not All Information Is Private

Unfortunately, many individuals, including both children and parents, do not know that the information that is posted online isn’t always private. For starters, most teens have their MySpace profiles set to public, as opposed to private. This means that anyone can view it. There are also online message boards that are indexed by the search engines. This means that others can view the conversations that were discussed, even years down the road.

5 – They Are In Control

When your child uses the internet, they are the ones who are in control. This can be okay if your child is older and mature, but you honestly never know. You may ask your child not to communicate with strangers online, give out their phone numbers, or share pictures with strangers, but that doesn’t mean that they will follow your rules. For that reason, if you do let your child use the internet, be sure to monitor their use.

Telephone scam from 07 numbers

June 5th, 2008

Hi {!firstname}

There was an item on the BBC radio at lunchtime today about a
telephone scam

You get a call on your mobile - it only rings once or twice then
cuts off - your mobile will show a missed call - even if you do try
to answer immediately you do not get connected to anyone - if you
try to ring back, thinking it’s a missed call, you only get a
ringing tone and no-one answers

the number of the caller will be something like 07016 and you think
it’s a mobile

in fact 070 is what they call “follow me” numbers - it’s a number
which you can ring and the person can redirect the call to their
home, their mobile, their office, or wherever they are - the number
in itself should not cost you any extra to ring and there is
nothing in itself suspicious about an 070 number

However, the scam is that, if you listen carefully when you try to
ring a scam call, it rings once or twice, then there’s a gap of
silence, followed by more ringing - what they think the scammers
are doing is letting the call be answered by a answering machine
and instead of you getting a message they play back to you the
sound of a telephone ringing so you don’t realise it has been
answered

The authorities are not sure how the scammers are making money out
of this, but the reality is that people are being charged for calls
they don’t realise they are making - because all they’ve heard is a
ringing tone they don’t realise they’ve been connected - when they
get their mobile phone bills they are very surprised to see they’ve
been charged

so the advice is, if you get a missed call and it’s an 070 number,
don’t ring back unless you’re absolutely sure you know the person
who’s rung you,

If you have scams you wish to share be sure to let us know

How Much Does your Domain really Cost?

May 12th, 2008

It may surprise you to know that one of the most popular questions I get asked by newcomers to internet marketing is related to buying a domain name.

Now I know if you’ve been around a little while you’re probably thinking “Buying a domain name! How hard is that? Just choose your name, click and buy!”

But stop and think about it for a moment … there is actually far more to it than you may realise

From the minute you arrive at your preferred domain seller you’re bombarded with choices, processes and options that are designed to get you spend a deal more than, say, the $4.99 you originally thought your shiny new domain name was going to cost you.

I have purchased domains from several places over the years such as 123reg, ukreg, namecheap, 1and1 and decided to take look at one of these and see exactly what’s on offer and whether all these add-ons and extras are totally essential or relevant at this stage.

* OK, so the first thing I see before I even type in the domain name I want to buy is that there’s a “Sale” on certain suffixes like .com .net .org

* I type in my domain name –which for this example I am using “domain-name-confusion.com” and click the `next’ button. The first thing I notice is that it is available, great - , but hang on… I can also buy domain-name-confusion.US .NAME .BIZ etc and many more. I can also choose from MYdomain-name-confusion, EASYdomain-name-confusion, domain-name-confusionONLINE, domain-name-confusionSTORE and myriad other combinations – do I really need all these?

How do I choose a domain name

* I decide that I don’t really need them all and that I’m just going to stick to my original choice of domain-name-confusion.com after all the venture I am trying might not work any way and I have just thrown more money away and so I don’t check any of the other boxes. I proceed on to what I think is the checkout but OH NO… again I’m being asked to STOP! Why don’t I protect my brand and increase my traffic by buying the .org .net and .info - and I’m even offered a really amazing “special price” to buy the job lot!

And what’s more there’s a list of reasons why I really should do this

So I have a further think about the domain and decide, no I just want to stick with my original domain name and so I click next

Great! We’re onto the summary page where I’m told what I’m ordering.

But WAIT! The length of the registration has been automatically set to 2 years (of course, there’s the facility to change this to 1 year). Renewal is also set to `Auto’ so when the registration period is up and we forget to renew our domain name, the money will automatically be charged to my PayPal account or credit card. But what if I get a few months down the line and I’m not still using this domain name and I think that I won’t bother renewing it? Can I just let it lapse? Not with `Auto’ switched on, I can’t. And there is a good chance I will forget this option has been enabled until the money has been deducted

Do I want my domain name certified for an extra $2.99? Do I want email adding to my domain for an extra $1.99? Is that Complete or Deluxe, Sir?

How about Hosting, Sitebuilder, a blog or even some traffic driving software? Is that Standard, Deluxe or Protected,?

* Well they are being very kind and thoughtful to offer me all these options but to be honest I just want the domain name

Phew, the checkout at last! But wait, do I want to add protection to my domain name and make it `private’? (Private means that your name and address will not be available on whois and usually costs more) Do I want to add another domain name? Am I sure I don’t want the .NET OR .INFO?

Quite a marathon when you think about it just to buy a domain. And, of course, when you are all wrapped up in the dream of having your own website and wanting to make it perfect from the outset, you are vulnerable to emotional suggestions. PROTECT, INCREASE, EXPAND, ATTRACT………

So let’s take a look to see if you need all these unfamiliar, but reasonable-sounding options?

Do You Need Extra Domain Suffixes?

You can register a .com domain name with several very reputable registrars for, say, $6.99/yr to $9.99/yr. Fees for registering the other possibilities, .info, .co.uk, .net, .org, .biz, .tv can range from $0.99 per year to whatever the registering company wants to charge.

But is it going to be worth it? And where do you stop with the combinations? .com, .co.uk, .info and then there’s the `do I add a dash ( - ) just-to-be-on-the-safe-side.com, .org, .biz’ ? I would say, probably not. The .com brand is so widely known that most people will automatically type in a .com extension on any website they are trying to find.

Private Registration

This option will keep your private details, name, physical address and email address unavailable to anyone checking the ownership of your domain on “Whois”. Internet law requires that all information about domain registration be publicly available and “Whois” maintains the databases that hold this information.

If you buy a private registration, your details will not be available to just anyone who wants to check your domain for specific ownership. There are many domain owners who don’t think this is necessary but, on the other hand, private registration can help you avoid spam, crank emails and unwanted phone calls. I don’t actually recall anyone ever phoning me up after getting details from the whois. I have had the odd spam from t though

It is worth bearing in mind that any emails you send from the US that are commercial in nature, like:

* Promoting a product or affiliation

* Suggesting that the reader visit your sales page

* Offering a discount for purchasing some product

are required, by the US Can-Spam Act, to have your correct, physical mailing address visible to your email recipients and the correct email address you sent the advertisement from, so this kind of defeats the object of private registration in some ways. I have found including the phone number also increases credibility. I would also recommend an autoresponder/follow up system like aweber

Protected Registration

This form of domain registration protects you from inadvertent expiration of your domain registration, including credit card expiration, failed billing or outdated contact information. It also makes it more difficult to accomplish most malicious domain transfers by Internet predators. Effectively, your domain would be held for you until you renewed the registration.

It can cost more than $25 a year for this service, depending on who you are using for this protection. If you are a small marketing venture, selling a piece of software, an affiliate product or an ebook on a niche product, you may not need this upsell. However, if later your domain starts making lots of money, and you decide that you do need it, you can easily add it.

Business Registration

This level of domain registration keeps need-to-know information about your business in the Whois database. That information can include a map to your store, website photo, business description, phone number and links to vital pages of your website.

The vital information your customers might need to facilitate business deals with your business is visible to millions of searchers in the Whois domain name database.

Do you need it? That would depend on the nature and size of your business and your budget. This would be more of a marketing/budget decision. A small, start-up website selling one ebook would probably not need this additional service.

How Many Years Do You Need?

At the start this is probably like asking how long is a bit of string? Every time you register a domain name, regardless of the service you choose to use for the registration, you will be offered a multi-year registration at a discount. It is up to you whether you consider this offer to be a good deal, but you might want to consider something before you do it.

Are you positive that you will still want to own the domain name after the first year? Will you still be in business in a year? Will you have graduated to a bigger, much different online business or another business entirely? Will the domain be relevant ?

If you take a multi-year package, the registrar will get all the money up front and you will not get a refund if you change your business or drop out entirely.

Hosting On The Domain Registry Site

This is a likely time-saving upsell you will be offered when you register your domain name. It seems like it would be an easy, time-saving option to buy. Your domain and website would be in the same place.

Most Internet Marketers, if asked, would advise against doing this. Putting all your eggs in one basket means your entire business disappears if the domain registrar quits doing registrations or generally just goes out of business. This has happened tome with a largish American domain registrar that I used for all my .com’s who now appear to be nowhere to be found .I now spread my domain registrations over several companies

A better choice would be to find another hosting company) that provides the options you need to make your website what you want it to be. (I run 1stChoiceWebHost.co.uk )

Finally…

The multitude of domain registrars on the internet will guarantee that there will be more offers to upgrade or to buy packages with various multiple options that sound fantastic on the surface. Since it’s your money at stake, it might be wise to carefully consider what you actually need right now…not a year down the line. By then your needs could be far different than anticipated originally.

Interview with Michael Cheney

April 23rd, 2008

How To Make Money Online (yes, even if you’re a newbie)

Have you noticed how difficult it is to actually get any REAL information about how to make money online?

It’s a nightmare isn’t it? You start off buying up everything you come across - all promising your overnight riches but only to disappoint you and leave you out of pocket. Well it doesn’t have to be like that as Michael Cheney is about to explain in this interview.

Michael Cheney, one of the most-respected names in Internet marketing, has been online since 1995 and is the man behind the 6-Figure launches of AdSense Videos, 11 Days To List Profits and Michael’s Traffic Videos.

After receiving 1489 responses to a survey he put out to his list one big request came back from almost everyone;

“Give us something easy, step-by-step and proven to make money online that anyone can do!”

So that’s what he’s giving you in the new product Start Your Profits Today.

Q. Michael, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with us today.

A. My pleasure - I know a lot of people out there want to get started making money online so it’s my job to get out and spread the word about how easy it is.

Q. So what do you see as being the main hurdles to newbies being able to make money on the internet? What is it that’s stopping them?

A. To be honest with you I think the main thing is information. There is just so much BAD information out there. Scams. Cons. Just bad information that is leading people astray and wasting their time and money. I mean you get onto the Internet and the first thing you see almost is these get-rich-quick schemes. It’s not your fault for seizing these so-called opportunities as they are presented so well. And believe me - I know there are thousands of you out there who have been taken for a ride by things like this. People on my list have been telling me this.

Q. Yes, you ran survey didn’t you to ask your list what they wanted? What sort of questions did you ask them and what did they say?

A. Well I asked how I could most help them. You know - I’ve been online since 1995 and make a lot of money online but I was keen to tap into their BIGGEST challenges and needs. So I asked them what sort of information they wanted to learn. What style of learning they preferred and how they wanted this information to be delivered. I was totally blown away by the responses - I got 1489 people completing the survey!

Q. So what did they say?

A. There some big common themes that kept coming up as I looked at the responses and all the comments. These were that people want something that is STEP BY STEP, something that is AFFORDABALE and something that takes you right FROM BEGINNING and doesn’t leave anything out. You can get really frustrated when you start investing in products that claim to make you money online only to find that leave out a massive piece of the jigsaw. Or they forget to mention that you need to buy X, Y and Z just to make their system work. And that’s where Start Your Profits Today is different.

Q. How do you mean exactly?

A. Well, for the first time - I take you, as a total newbie beginner, right through the entire process from beginning to end on making money online. You discover how to get your own website address, how to create your website and how to start bringing the money in by selling other people’s products. This is a distilled version of the best making-money techniques I have ever used in my 13 years’ online experience. This is quite simple the fastest, easiest and best way to make money online and I show you what to do every step of the way.

Q. Sounds great. So how do you take people through all these steps?

A. Simple - I have recorded short videos on-screen of me actually doing each of these steps so you just follow the simple success formula - WATCH. COPY. EARN. You cannot go wrong, even a child could do it. I’m serious!

Q.You’re right, it does sound really easy. So tell me, what are some of these steps that you go through in Start Your Profits Today?

A. You learn how to pinpoint the most profitable products to promote. You like that title?! I like to have snappy titles that inspire you to take action as it’s not all sexy make-money stuff right from the beginning. There are obviously crucial steps you need to take in preparation. You know - to get your website online, to get your website address and to add words and pictures to your website etc.

Q. So what exactly do you need if you’re a beginner starting out trying to make online? Are there some items you need to buy?

A. Great question - yes you do need to have a few essentials. You just can’t make money online without them. You’ll need your own website address and of course your own website. I show you where to get this and the best, cheapest place to go for this in Start Your Profits Today. Other than that you can do everything else pretty much for free.

Q. So you don’t need to buy lots of different things to get started online?

A. No not all. I’m a big believer in doing things that are free! I started out with nothing, working from my bedroom in a poxy one-bed bachelor apartment. Now I live in $800,000 house in the country. My point? When I started out if there was a free way to do something - I found it! And I’m still that way now so I uncover some of these insider money-saving secrets in the videos as well.

Q. So wrapping up then - who would you say would benefit from these videos? Do you need to have a basic level of knowledge on the internet to get started?

A. If you can turn on your computer you are good to go! Seriously! You’ll see that I take you by the hand and guide you through every step of the way. I hate jargon so you won’t see any of that and it’s all explained in simple English and you can go along and progress through to the money at your own pace.

Q. You really do seem to have created a product that every newbie is going to want! So I guess the big question is - how much money can they make using Start Your Profits Today?

A. Well this all really depends on your attitude. If you have a great attitude and you put in the time to go through the steps then there is honestly no limit. You could quite easily be bringing in a few hundred to a few thousand extra dollars a week once you are up and running. What you need to remember is that is exactly the same system that I use in my multi-million dollar business. It works for me, it works for thousands of other people and it will work for you too.

Q. That’s great Michael. Thank you again for your time today, I really appreciate you doing this interview for us. Well all that remains now is for anyone listening to this interview to get over to Start Your Profits Today and start your profits today!

Make Money from 404 error pages

April 3rd, 2008

Make Money from 404 error pages

I am sure like the rest of us you have visited a site and got a 404 page either because the page has moved or you have typed the url incorrectly. What do you see? The chances are you saw a generic 404 page such as www.hairhelp.co.uk/’kk which simply says page not found.

This is what is more commonly known as the 404 Error Page. It’s the page that shows up by default when someone ‘accidentally’ types in the address of the page they are looking for on your site incorrectly or even if you have changed your site and renamed pags and people find an old page on google that is not there any more.

Now, in many cases, it truly happens by mistake. However, if you sell downloads then this can happen because people are snooping around to try and steal your download page. Basically what this means is that people try and guess your downloads and the most common is http://1stchoicesoftware.co.uk/downlaods or something similar. I know this is shady but people will try and get ebooks, software, info products without paying especially if they have resale rights and then sell them on.

So what can be done with 404 pages I hear you ask. Most hosts including mine (www.1stchoicewebhost.co.uk) will allow you to create your own custom 404 page via the cpanel witch is fairly straight forward. This means you capitalize on it whether they are doing it
purposely or they are truly ending up there by accident.

If you have your own website and it gets traffic, some of your visitors are ending up on that page. Now, if they are seeing the generic message that their browser shows them when it happens, then you are not making good use of your website and worst still they may simply click away and be gone forever .

What you have to remember is that every page of your website can put money in your pocket. Even your 404 error page. You can customize that page just like any other page on your website.

Some ideas to utilize on that page include:

-Making an special offer at a discounted price.
-Having it be a squeeze page.
-Making it an Adsense page.
-Redirecting it to a related affiliate product.

Those are just a few of the many different, yet profitable types of ways you can make good use of your 404 error page.

It won’t make you rich, but it definitely will put some extra money in your account. Maybe it will help you pay one of your bills, or you can just reinvest it into your
business.

Either way, if you don’t customize this page, you can be leaving money on the table. Having something for your visitors to see that end up on that page is extremely more beneficial to you then not having anything on that page.

I have recently been looking at ResellerGoodies and using this on my 404 pages such as www.moneymasteronline.co.uk/jj the great thing about this is that is based around the $7 script so if anyone buys any of the products I get 100% of the profit and also the cart is automatically generated which means I can throw the code up on the 404 page or indeed any page and simply forget about ti as it will grow as members add new products. When I joined the cart only had 6 pages now it has 9.

If you want to make the most of your 404 pages or get into selling software to your cliet shtn I would recommend at ResellerGoodies

Ease of Use: 4 out of 5

- The one thing they did not make clear is that you need to add your paypal email and clickbank ID before generating the code for the shop

How Will You Ride The eBay Digital Storm?

March 31st, 2008

Following eBay’s announcement that they are banning digital goods I have received loads of emails about this and many people having a panic attack but as I said before I think this could be a positive move

If you have traded on eBay any length time you will know that eBay’s word is law and eventually they will ban you if you carry on breaching policies by offering to refunded shipping if the opt for a download version or sending letters with download links,

If you’re serious about using eBay to build your business my advice would be to stick to the eBay rules and plough your creativity and energy into transforming your products into amazing-looking multi-media CDs/DVDs wich will get a higher value.

As I said earlier I am excited - I think this could be a fabulous opportunity. Products can be sold for a 3 to 4 times more without silly people undercutting everyone by doing it at 49c to build feedback etc

I was planning to do some research on the matter and possibly offer a service to burn and create CDs but now I am not sure (it is still an option if anyone is interested) .

Why?

Well, Dave Nicholson of Planet Divinity has come up with the perfect package. Many of you will know Dave and his amazing graphics work and I’m sure a good number of you will have had your own designs and graphics done by Dave’s talented team. I personally wouldn’t go anywhere else for my graphics and that’s why I’m really excited about his new package.

I really can concentrate on the content of my product now rather than all the `other’ stuff, because I know, when I’m ready for all that, Dave’s Digital Media Solution will walk me through all the rest.

  • How to arrange everything on my CD or DVD for optimum effect
  • How to make a simple but effective menu system to guide my customers through quickly and professionally
  • How to Integrate my autoresponder, so I can still add my customers to my `digital mailing list
  • Templates and more templates so i can create product after product quickly and professionally
  • And loads more

Dave’s offering a special introductory price at the moment, for all those that want to get in on this on the ground floor. Once the ebay powersellers and all the slower ebay sellers realize and start searching around I am sure the price will go upto $97 or even greater

Here’s the link again so you can check it out and see what you think - it might be just the solution you’re looking for Digital Media Solution

BUT WAIT before you purchase from the above link I want to tell you about my bonus which is I will provide you with a FREE hosting account witch will enable you to host a couple of pages and provide you with an email account that you can use with aweber – simply forward me the receipt with your domain name to be hosted after purchase

Speak soon

Ebay Ban the selling of digital items

March 25th, 2008

No it’s not April and this is not an April fools day joke

As you know I sell copies of the E W portal which offers secure protection for Digital for digital downloads both from your website and ebay.

I was told this morning that ebay will be banning digital downloads from 31st March 2008, details can be read at

http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200803.shtml#2008-03-24125416

There is also a ton of activity on eBay’s discussion boards.

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=1000671814&start=80

So as of 31st March 2008 anyone selling digital items will be in violation of eBay’s policies.

. This affects anyone selling items delivered digitally.

This can include:

  • eBooks
  • Audio/mp3
  • Digital Videos
  • Websites
  • Domain Names
  • Graphic Design Services
  • Photo Services
  • And any other service delivered electronically.

Although this will now limit the sale of E W Portal as people will only be able to use the software with their websites and not ebay there are still positives as every cloud has a silver lining

Some of the more experienced marketers may remember the days of info products that came on floppy disks then cd’s which is in fact how I started and used too make some extra pin money. Then came along digital downloads and prices dropped as people sold the items cheaper purely because they could automate their business

Have you guessed where I am going yet?

As I see it the only negative is that anyone selling digital downloads can no longer automate there business. You will need to make your items physical. And the best way to do this is to burn your eBooks or other digital items to CD Rom and send it via regular mail. This is not as hard as it sounds once you set up a system to burn and ship CD’s. This task can even be outsourced if you wish.

By selling physical items you are no longer restricted by eBay’s digital item policy.

For starters you are no longer restricted to the ‘buy now’ option. This means you can list auctions.

You also may be able to list in other categories other than Everything Else > Information Products (I am waiting for a reply from eBay and will confirm this soon)

The up-sell opportunities are truly massive. Remember, you are mailing a physical item to your customers so you have a lot more chance of your further ‘offers’ being viewed.

UK users can list on ebay.co.uk again, no more having to list on ebay.com to avoid the digital item policy.

The chance of selling multiple items will increase dramatically as you can offer extra items and no extra shipping as you simply burn it to the same CD or DVD

Because your customers are now getting a physical item you can put your prices up. All you have to do is make the CD case look nice along with the CD and the price goes up. Don’t take my word for look at the price of any home study course delivered via regular mail. In fact I know one internet marketer who brought a course on ebay for £9.99 and basically turned it into a cd and sold it for £39

Remember! People who want to succeed will not look at the negatives, they will look for the positives and at the moment I feel the positives far outweigh the negatives.

This is a massive policy change for you and I but we can make this work in our favor.

I hope to bring you more news on this soon but I still see my sites such as www.UKNetIdeas.com and www.1stChoiceSoftware.com having a future

In the meantime please feel free to post your comments and feedback
